History

After surviving the Great Depression, with the cost of fuel at 17 cents per gallon, and the great Harry S. Truman as our President, Joe Howe started a small electrical contracting business in 1949. Partnering with his wife Bernice Howe and later incorporating as Howe Electric, Inc. in 1959, the business prospered. The expanded business included an Electrical Supply Store and Lighting Show Room along with the construction division. In 1965, Howe Electric added Design/Build services to their résumé and later established an in-house engineering division. In the 1980’s, led by Clinton and Clifford Howe, sons of Joe and Bernice, the company became an industry leader excelling in Design/Build Construction and large scale public work projects.

Today we continue to provide world-class service. With our diverse experience, we perform a multitude of projects both nationwide and internationally. Project types include medical facilities (complete hospitals, OSHPD facilities, surgery centers and imaging), industrial facilities, educational facilities, office buildings, shopping centers and sports arenas. We had the pleasure of completing two separate rocket launch facilities for Lockheed Martin (SLC-3 East) and for Boeing (SLC-6) at the Vandenberg Air Force Base along with radar facilities in Japan and Israel for Raytheon.
